About the Unit

The Swedish Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems Command, FMTIS Systems Unit

The Systems Unit is responsible for technology and equipment in the Armed Forces' fixed command systems as well as technical and infrastructural design and architecture of the joint defense information infrastructure. The Systems Unit consists of Unit Management, staff, and four departments, comprising a total of just over 200 employees.

About the Position

Are you comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously without losing overview and control?

The Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems Command, FMTIS, is now seeking an Operations Manager for the Systems Unit Staff.

As the Operations Manager of the unit, also responsible for the operational area, you will be responsible for the coordination and organization of all activities taking place this year. You will be responsible for planning, prioritizing, executing, and following up within your operational area together with the remaining staff in the unit.

The Systems Unit Staff currently consists of 13 employees located in various locations across Sweden. The unit's employees are present at approximately 18 operational sites.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to the Systems Unit Staff Chief
  • Lead, coordinate, and organize the staff's operational activities this year
  • Be responsible for the unit's reporting to higher management
  • Prepare and process incoming tasks for the Systems Unit
  • Independently present completed materials for meetings at the unit level
  • Support the FMTIS command staff within your area of expertise as needed

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Documented experience in leading operations
  • Academic degree or other qualifications/experience deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Driver's license at least B

DESIRABLE

  • Academic degree in economics, leadership, operational management, or a related field
  • Experience from the Armed Forces or related authorities
  • Experience in managing technical systems

Employment type: Permanent position, civilian role. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.

Employment rate: Full-time

Work location: Karlskrona

Start date: As soon as possible or by agreement.

Travel: The position involves business trips for both short and long periods.
